To promote user adoption and exploration of its voice products like Home and Assistant, Google approached Jam3 to come up with some novel ways to use voice in everyday life. We created this little app to let you create and share custom greeting cards using your voice to get started.

Though the resulting product is simple and breezy, a lot went into thinking about how it would come to life. How do we make sure the instructions are crystal clear? How far can a user progress without actually seeing their greeting card on a screen?

Though the resulting product is simple and breezy, a lot went into thinking about how it would come to life. How do we make sure the instructions are crystal clear? How far can a user progress without actually seeing their greeting card on a screen? What sorts of nuances should we consider in thinking about spoken vs. written instructions? What kind of voice should it have? These are the sorts of questions we were excited to explore, and it forced us to work in a quick and highly iterative manner.
